St Francis Chapel, Haywards Heath, West Sussex - 17th January 2004

This the former chapel to the Sussex County Lunatic Asylum, latterly St Francis Hospital.  The old hospital buildings have now been developed into residential use and when the photograph taken the chapel was up for sale for redevelopment (for £500,000 - no doubt more than the entire cost of building the original asylum!).

This attractive chapel was built in 1859 and is Grade II listed.  I wish I could afford to buy it and live there!
