St Swithun, East Grinstead, West Sussex - 22nd May 2004
The Windows

The photographs start at the north end of the south aisle and work around the church.  I apologise for the exposure, particularly of the south windows - but the sun was streaming directly into them!

They have all been electronically corrected for perspective distortion.

Western end of North Aisle.  The figure in the centre of the first image (with a green robe) is John Mason Neale, the hymn writer and founder of St. Margaret's Convent in East Grinstead.  He is depicted in front of Sackville College, East Grinstead, where he was a warden from 1846 to 1866.  With him are other nineteenth century church leaders with Sussex connections.  His prayer desk is in the Chapel of the Nativity.
