Orange Crocosmia - 19th July 2003

Family Iridaceae; Genus Crocosmia

Crocosmia (previously known as Montbretia)  is one of my favourite plants, and there are many different varieties available.  This is one we've added to the garden, although have lost the label and can't remember the variety.

Just on a point of interest Crocosmia means 'safron smell'.

Notice the little bug sitting on top!  I didn't until I loaded the picture from the camera onto the computer.
