St John the Baptist, Tisbury, Wiltshire - 22nd September 2003

Taken in the rain (which explains the blurry area - water on the lens!).  This church has an unusual extension to the tower, narrower than that below.

The parishioners have partitioned off the original chancel with a well designed glass wall, and installed a new communion table west of the tower arch.  The chancel has been converted into a separate chapel, which is no doubt easier to heat in the winter and much more suitable for smaller gatherings than the enormous space in the nave.  Each part of the building even has its own pipe organ!
