The church of St Lawrence was dedicated in 1326, however there is mention in the records of a chapel in this vicinity as early as 1228. The north and south walls of the church are not parallel, a characteristic common in even earlier buildings. The barrel roof is embellished with late mediaeval wall-plate bosses of interesting subjects including a mermaid, two headed eagle and a Janus headed king among others.

The church has a gallery at the west end containing the organ.
