This building was erected in 1879 and has a burial ground attached. For many years its pastor was Mr William Knight who lived at Jireh House in Perrymount Road. He learnt botany at Kew Gardens and was a noted horiculturalist. It is recorded that at 50 years of age Mr Knight had a serious illness and he vowed that if he was spared he would build a chapel "to the glory of God". He recovered and kept his vow, leaving us with this building. The building is kept in a neat condition and it would appear that services are still held here.
