St Nicholas, Southfleet, Kent - 13th September 2008

A view of the church from the south east - what a ghastly lamp post!

The south west corner of the Saxon nave is evidenced by this long and short work in the corner adjacent to the tower.

Sadly the north and east aspects of this lovely building have been completely wrecked by a hideous modern extension - I don't think that stands a chance of lasting a thousand years!

Although this church has much of interest to see - we were denied the pleasure of an internal viewing as the church was locked shut with no evidence of a local key holder.  Very dissapointing.
