St Nicholas Chapel, Carrisbrooke Castle, Isle of Wight

Although there has been a chapel on this site since 1070, this building was built by Percy Stone in 1904 to mark the 250th anniversary of the execution of Charles I, who was imprisoned in the castle.  I photographed it in October 2002.

As a result of this site I have been in contact with Carol Myers, who runs a site focussing on the theme of St Nicholas - she has used some of the pictures here - do have a look at her site www.stnicholascenter.org.
