The stained glass in the nave is all 19th and early 20th century and commemorate local people and visitors. They are mostly the work of Lavers, Barraud and Westlake with some being replacement copies made following the 1906 fire. The images are shown in the order as they would be seen looking at the respective wall, and have been electronically corrected for perspective distortion which may have altered the aspect ratios of the windows, and the photographs of the windows are not all to the same scale.
1. Hope, above, and below "Against the day of my burying hath she kept this", a depiction of Jesus having his feet anointed. "To the memory of Charles and Hannah Vallance 1882". 2. Faith, above, and below "Suffer little children to come unto me. "To the memory of Meredith Maria Lady Carmichael Anstruther OB IC AP 1846 erected by her only son". 3. Charity, above, and below "Rabboni". "To the glory of God and in loving memory of Mary Ra?e who died 15th September 1881".
1. By faith Abel offered unto God a more acceptable sacrifice than Cain, above, and below "I do set my bow in the cloud and it shall be for a token of a covenant between me and the earth". 2. This is my beloved son in whom I am well pleased, above, and below Noah building the ark. "To the glory of God and in memory of many of his kinsfolk now at rest in the adjoining churchyard Henry Walsford Smithers JP of Brighton has caused this window to be made AD 1907. 3. By faith Abraham when he was tried offered up Isaac.

"To the glory of God and in memory of Anthony ?ololove and Sarah his wife this window is erected by their affectionate daughters AD 1873" 3. St Luke, above, and below, "The good samaritan". "In memory of Edward Woodridge died 13 August 1870 aged 62 years".
1. Stanford Fane Benett, above and below "This chancel was restored by Vere Fane Bennett Stanford MP and Ellen his wife, 1878". 2. Stanford Morris, above and below "In memory of William Stanford of Preston Place, born 1809, died 1853". 3. Stanford Tovrle, above and below "In memory of William Stanford of Preston Place born 1764, died 1841, he was a magistrate for the county of Sussex High Sheriff in the year 1808 & Lord of this Manor".
1. Permare Per Terras, "In memory of Colonel Donald MacDonald late of 19th Princess of Wales's Own Regt died 1847, also of Emma his wife died 1876 set up by their son George Varnham MacDonald of Preston Place & late a Capt in the same regt". 2. The Princess of Wales's Own Reg't., "Erected to the memory of Captain George V MacDonald by his brother officers, 1882. This window was designed by William George Taylor of Berners Street, London. 3. Good Samaritan, "In affectionate remembrance of John Baylis, Assistant Priest of this parish 1945 -1952".
Here is a closer view of the central portion of this last window, which makes an interesting and pleasing contrast to the 19th century designs.
The east window contrasts sharply with the other windows in the church, being of simple geometric design and was rebuilt as part of the 1877 restoration of the chancel.
