Old Chapel House, Dallington (Ashburnham), East Sussex - 2nd August 2004

This building looks like an old chapel, especially from the side, and in fact its name (Old Chapel House) would also suggest ecclesiastical origins!

It is situated on the road from Dallington to Ponts Green (Ashburnham). If anyone knows more of the history of this building please get in touch.

A recent correspondent has informed me that this used to be the Ashburnham Congregational Chapel.  In the 1960's the Village School in Brown Bread Street closed and the village hall moved to the school.  The Congregationalists then moved into the Village hall, which is now the URC chapel at Ponts Green.
