St Anne's Chapel, Barnstaple, Devon - 12th October 2006

This chapel was probably built in the early 14th century as a Chantry chapel, and the tower was added in the 16th century.  Chantry chapels were closed down by Edward VI and the chapel then became a school.  It was used as a place of worship by the Huguenot refugees who fled persecution in France in the late 17th century.
