I took this very depressing digital picture whilst visiting Cornwall in 1996, windows boarded up and churchyard overgrown. What a terrible shame to see a lovely little church in this condition!

There is a memorial to the famous preacher Billy Bray in the churchyard, where he is buried.

Footnotes:
1996 - The archivist at the Public Records Office told me the last time he had been inside this church it had been in a badly vandalised condition.
2007 - An email correspondent, David Brewer, who attended the school at Baldu from 1945-52, remembers the Vicar, the Rev. Cockerel, addressing the school assembly etc. He also had the welcome news that the church is undergoing complete renovation and conversion into a dwelling.
